Oh, did you actually click
Oh, did you actually click the link that says, "subscribe post"? The way the subscription system works is that if you subscribe to a category, you are notified when nnew posts are made. However, you don't get automatic notification of replies to those posts unless you explicitly subscribe to them. |
Whoops, didn't see that.
Whoops, didn't see that. I did get a notification of the new smileys forum though. The 'From' line contains your gmail address. You might want to find a way around that. |
That's intentional
> The 'From' line contains your gmail address. I specifically set Drupal to have my email address there. Hitting "reply" should cause something sane to happen, such as the message going to an actual human who will read it. Eventually I'll set up a role addres to point it to, but that's further off. |
There's no use hitting reply
There's no use hitting reply to those notifications. They don't contain the actual message. They just feature a link to the forums if you feel like reading it. |
Take it from someone who's done this before
People hit reply for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes they want to stop getting the notifications (which I'll take care of). Maybe there's some other reason why they want to get in touch with the person who runs the site. The point is, sending automated emails "from" an invalid address is an extraordinarily *bad* idea. It's a great way to get a reputation for being unresponsive to members when such replies go unanswered, or worse yet get bounced back. |
