Errors found with posted poll
|
I posted a test poll that was supposed to show up in the General Discussion forum but I don't see it there. Instead, I only see it from the Recent Posts list and from a page that CLAIMS to be a General Discussion page and could very well be, but can't there be only one? Anyways, the actual poll is here and the original glitch I found is here: SCENARIO 1: http://sk1p.com/stuff/forums/pf_glitch_scen1.png In the first pic everything looks fine and dandy. The poll displays properly. A bar in the "Tuba" field shows that 100% of those who voted, voted for Tuba. But all I did in the second pic was resize the window, and the bar moved down and is completely out of place. I am using WinXP Pro SP1 with Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4. Anyone else see this glitch? |
Whew, that's a muzzlefull!

To answer your questions in order: 1) I'm aware that the polls don't show up in the fourms. I'm not entirely sure why. In the meantime, it is perfectly acceptable to make a poll and link to it from another post. I'm still researching this problem. 2) The page that claims to be a general discussion page is actually a taxonomy entry in Drupal, and it pulls up all "nodes" (Drupal's term for a type of page) for that particular Taxonomy term. It's just another way of viewing data. Drupal is all about that. 3) Thanks for the screenshots. It's hard to tell whether the cause was a browser bug or an error in the HTML. But since it only happens when the window is resized, I'm not too worried. I've seen similar issues happen on web projects I've done professionally, so this case is not unique. 4) Re: link parsing, I don't know why one of them did not get parsed. The parsing is done through an add on module that is not part of the core Drupal distribution. I have also seen this problem happen before on other Drupal sites that have this plugin. One workaround is to manually create an <a href> tag manually if the preview does not show the URL being converted. -- |

Here's another one...the BB
Here's another one...the BB is supposed to automatically parse URLs and create links out of them, but only the second URL of the two PNG files I linked to above successfully became a link.
