May 15th! Primary Election Day for State, County and Municipal governments in Pennsylvania.

Of import is the ACT 1 Exemption Resolutions administered on behalf of each individual school district who can not meet their budgets within the property tax limits outlined by PA Act 1 of 2006...aka "The Property Tax Relief Act", or "Legalized Gambling to Subsidize Education."

In some school districts, they are proposing this referendum to get permission to levy taxes for 2007-2008 above the 9% level limit/year by the Act 1 legislation.

I know many of you probably rent, but as property taxes are increased, rent must also increase. For those of you who own your own home...taxes increase your escrow which increase your monthly mortgage payments. With gasoline prices looking to spike at $3.50 to $4.00 a gallon by Memorial Day, the domino effect increased transportation costs will have on food stuffs and other consumables will begin to be felt.

To get more information on ACT 1 Referendums in your district, Google your school district name along with "ACT 1" and that should bring up a link to the verbiage of your local ACT 1 Exemption referendum.

This is YOUR opportunity to stand up, be counted, and possibly make a difference in your life, your community and your state.

GO VOTE your conscience!

*Hugs*
