"What is a Furry?"

I understand that the answer to this question is rather ambiguous, and the specific definition varies from fur to fur. And technically, Bugs Bunny and the like do fall under the furry catagory. However I'd like to be able to point non-furry friends to the site, and the description you have may mislead them into thinking that I have some silly obession over Tony the Tiger and Bugs Bunny.

I'm not exactly sure what I'd put there myself, but I'm not sure that I like whats currently there.

I'm open to suggestions

Well, I'm open to suggestions. I was just trying to indicate that furries are part of every day life, and that this fandom has an actual interest in them. Plus, I figured that providing some real life examples might help non-furs pick up on the concept quicker.

I'm open to alternative suggestions for wording. What do you think of the wording that Anthrocon uses on its website?

That description is pretty

That description is pretty good I think. Maybe a bit lengthy for what we need here, but I think it gives a better idea of what a furry is. Perhaps you could cut out where they show the examples of the litte furry in everyone (ex "We cheer for mascots -- anthropomorphic animals dressed in team uniforms -- at our favorite sporting events"). I think that sort of info is unessessary. We don't need to prove why we're here, just who we are.

What is Furry?

Well I created an artical on WikiFur titled "What is Furry?" where I summed that up to the best of my ability. Perhaps an adaptation of that can be used for our "What is Furry?" page...

Here is a link to the artical: http://furry.wikicities.com/wiki/What_is_Furry%3F
