[EVENT] Western PA Furry Weekend kicks off Tomorrow!!
|
[Apologies for the x-posting] The Western Pennsylvania Furry Weekend, www.wpafw.org, kicks off Friday, October 6th, at 7PM with our Friday Furry Social and spans the entire weekend! Hey! That's TOMORROW!! We have 45 furs pre-registered from all around Pennsylvania, the surrounding states as well as Canada and we're expecting more to show up at the door to take part in this fun and intimate annual Furmeet. We hope you will be one of them! On-site Registration will be open from 7-10PM on Friday night outside the Allegheny Room at the Comfort Inn, Pittsburgh North and from 1-5PM on Saturday at the Fur-b-que at Fireman's Memorial Park in Aspinwall, PA. Basic registration On-site is $25, payable by cash, check or money order. Sorry, no upgrades are available after pre-registration closed. Pre-registered attendees, arriving Friday night after registration closes should see Ashe Krryven, Host of the Friday Furry Social, to check in, get your wrist band and your registration packet. Speaking about the Friday Furry Social, Ashe is excited to be able to kick off the Furry Weekend and afford our attendees with room to gather, socialize, play games, join in a sketching circle or catch one of four movies being shown during the seven hour event. On the screen for your pleasure are, in order of showing, Disney's "Robin Hood," Jim Henson's "The Dark Crystal," Disney's "Lion King," and Lisburger's "Animalympics." The Friday Furry Social begins at 7pm and runs until 2am to offer the opportunity for attendees arriving late to still get in on the fun and fellowship. Light hors d'oeuvres along with snacks and drinks will be served through the evening while supplies last. Don't forget to bring along your con-badge, and if you don't have one already, you might be able to petition one of the many artists on hand at the event to sketch you one or maybe even draw in your furry sketch book. Our Furry Weekend Charity, Animal Friends - Pittsburgh's only No-Kill animal shelter, is excited to be working with us again for the third year in a row. They have donated gifts and literature to the event and have enrolled us in a program which links our efforts up with local philanthropists who will match what we raise at this weekend's event. That means we can double our overall contribution to this worth while, not for profit, organization. With that in mind, please come prepared to make a difference for canines and felines without homes here in southwestern Pennsylvania. That's just the start of the weekend. The WPAFW Staff and I have much more planned for you Saturday and Sunday. So don't miss out on the furry fun this weekend in the autumn clad Allegheny River valley just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Safe travels and we look forward to showing you a great time! Swift Fox |
