Had a nice time last night meeting all the new furs at Lupine's Den.  Very different than what I am used to, but a lot of fun.  You'll be seeing more of me around at the different meets to come. Speaking of which, I am thinking about having one at my place in late October.  More of that to follow...

This weekend = Hersheypark!

Mon, 2008-08-11 16:59
Just an update and reiteration for those who were still suffering from con hangover. ;D

This weekend is the 3rd Annual Hersheypark Meet!
When: Saturday, August 16th
People can start arriving at my place at noon. We leave for the Park at 4:45pm.
Where: Hershey & Palmyra, PA, more specifically 436 N. Railroad St., Palmyra, PA 17078
Best place to park is on Chestnut Street off of Spruce Street.
What/When: Noon-4:45pm Hangout, eat, play games, etc. I'm thinking of putting together some chicken & waffles for lunch/dinner.
4:45pm - 5pm Drive to Hersheypark & walk to the gate
5pm - 11pm Hersheypark happy. For half the price! ($25 after 5pm). ZooAmerica will be open until 8pm. *I recently saw in the paper that they now have bobcat cubs, baby barn owls, and a pair of swift foxes.* Also, come ride the newest coaster in the lineup: Farenheit. This coaster sports a 97 degree drop.

As you may notice, there's a bit of a schedule change from previous years in order to make it more affordable, perhaps less crowded, and most likely less scorching... This should work better for those hurting for money. It's looking to be a low 70's & high 60's evening with no chance of rain!

My apartment is half of a duplex, so I'll warn my neighbor that I'm having a party, but please be on good behavior. Also, this is an alcohol free party.

Please let me know if you're coming or to contact me with any questions: cruxvv at yahoo dot com

Oktoberfurs Annual Camping Trip: Registration Now Open!

Mon, 2008-08-04 18:51
4th Annual Oktoberfurs is Coming!

Are you ready to escape to the woods for 2 days of amazing fun? You are invited to escape the brick and mortar jungle and get down and dirty with a group of furs whom enjoy all of what nature has to offer.

Oktoberfurs is an annual furry camp out that is held the first weekend of October every year in beautiful Burke Lake Park, VA. Last year we had 30+ attendees and it was a blast. Check-in starts at 6 pm Fri. Oct. 3 and the camp out ends at 11 am Sun. Oct. 5.

Pre-registration is required for this event. The is $20 for the weekend. Fee includes site fee, dinner Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday, and breakfast Sunday.

You are responsible for bringing a tent, sleeping equipment, chair, and other basic camping gear. (A list is available on the Oktoberfurs board.)

During the day there is fishing (VA fishing license needed), boating ( rentals are available at a charge and if you own a  boat there are no gas engines allowed in the lake), mini-golf (at a nominal cost) and disc Golf (this year I will be taking a group through the course, c'mon out and try it) as well as just general sit around and chat, walks, hikes, etc. We will have games to play, including various card/board games. There will be an artists' table available for those who would like to draw as well as scanning capabilities for those whom would like to archive their work (A dvd/cd burner is also on this machine for bulk saves, bring your own media to burn to though. Other than this, there is no electricity; please leave laptops, etc. at home.)

This is a furry event so bring your collar, tail and ears. Fursuits ( full or half) are not allowed at the park.

Contact staff via IM/Email, and/or the Oktobefurs Campout Board, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Oktoberfur_Camping/, (which also has more info and will keep you up to date on what's happening), to register and find out more!

IF YOU COME TO OUR MEETS, PLEASE READ THIS.

(x-posted to kalemika)

Okay.

Due to recent events at our meets, we're going to need to enact some new rules. We're sorry we have to be such pains but we've been opening our home to everyone and lately very little respect has been shown to it. (For detailed information on why this is happening, or to satisfy your curiosity, you can read a general overview here.

Most people are okay and have nothing to worry about, but for those of you who might be affected by this rule, consider yourself warned:

We are now enacting a zero-tolerance policy for anyone who drinks irresponsibly in our house.

What does this mean? It means that if you drink and:
  • Destroy part of our house (and don't tell us or offer a reasonable way to fix it)
  • Make a huge mess (i.e. throw up) and don't have the guts to inform anyone
  • Act irresponsibly and cause us stress or ruin the fun times of other people at the meet
  • Require us to call the waaaambulance
You will be banned from drinking at our meets, money or not, for good. That's it. That's the best way for us to cover our asses and the fairest to you, as well. We're not banning you from the meets, but if you can't drink and be responsible at our meet I think it's both best for you and us to remove that from the equation. You can enjoy yourself (sober) and we can not worry so much.

If we catch you violating the ban, then we're sorry, but you're out the door (as far as meets are concerned) period. End of story, no questions.

I'm sorry to be so strict but:
  • Something needs to be done about the problems we're experiencing
  • This rule applies to a very small number of situations and most people will not be bothered by it as they have proven themselves responsible
  • If we slack on the rule it won't have any effect. I'm sorry if you're our friend, and if we pull this on you it's not because we don't like you, it's because in order for any sort of rule to be effective it needs to be strictly enforced. No exceptions.
Again - we want to keep having fun at our meets and we need a quick and easy way of dealing with this other than trying to talk to people quietly outside of our meets and having incidents repeat themselves over, and over, and over.

The second rule is please, no sex in the champagne room. Or our living room. Or our front lawn. Or the basement. Or Frank's room. Or anyone's room. No sex at the meets. Thank you.

Thanks for reading,

Kale.

Swim and Sushi Meet Pushed Back

Tue, 2008-07-22 20:13
Due to a massive oversight (read: i have teh dum), I'm moving the Swim and Sushi meet back a weekend. I failed to realize that FA:U was happening the very same weekend which was preventing a lot of people (read: everyone) from coming. All the rest is the same except for the date, which has been moved to August 9th.

WHAT: Central PA Swim & Sushi Meet! Come to Koebi's place for swimming and hanging out and snack, then cart out for movie and sushi/hibachi.
WHEN: August 9th, 2008, starting at 1:PM
WHERE: Koebi's place for swimming and snacks at 1:00, Regal Cinemas for a movie (to be decided) around 5:00, then after the movie, to Tokyo Diner for sushi or hibachi. After dinner, back to Koebi's for late-night hanging out by the pool. If anyone needs to crash, I have space at my place for a couple furs, but PLEASE let me know beforehand.

Addresses: Koebi's Place- 165 Leedy Road, Spring Grove, PA 17362
Regal Cinemas- 1800 Loucks Rd, York, PA 17408
Tokyo Diner- 2300 E Market St, York, PA

Bring a swimsuit/trunks for swimming, and snacks/drinks to share by the pool. For Tokyo Diner, I can personally vouch for, along with a couple other PA furs, how awesome the sushi is here. All made to order; there is a sushi bar as well as hibachi tables if that's what people want to go for. A tad on the expensive side, the hibachi dishes are around $12-$17 depending on what you get. Also, they have ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI. I highly recommend this. It's $10 to join their "Royal Club" for a year, which nets you a membership card that gives you the choice of all you can eat sushi for $25, or %15 off your bill if you don't go for sushi. The staff are friendly (they know me by face, now, and I'm usually greeted with 'oh no, it's you!' and a big thank you then I bring a bunch fo friends in), and the restaurant itself is very nicely decorated.

We haven't decided on a movie yet. If anyone has any suggestions, let us know so we can get a vote for what everyone wants to see.

RSVP here if you can. If you need to get a hold of me to RSVP or get directions (I do kinida live up in the middlle of nowhere) hit me up on aim (Yahoo and AIM are both 'koebimoonlight'), or give me a call at 717-451-1065. Pleeease, if you call, leave a message, especially if I don't have your number in my phone. XD
